About Jamaica in Photos

A map of Jamaica told through photographs: its beaches, mountains, wildlife, towns and people, each one placed where and when it was taken.

Explore by place and time

Every photo is pinned to the spot it was taken. On the map, filter by category, then drag the timeline to travel through the years and see how a place changes with the seasons and over time. Each photo’s page also shows other photos taken from the same spot.

Who’s behind it

Jamaica in Photos is a project by Oren Thomas, a Jamaican photographer. New photos are added as they’re taken, from all fourteen parishes.

Using the photos

All photos are © Oren Thomas unless credited otherwise, and may not be reused without permission. Licences for editorial and commercial use, and prints, are available: get in touch. The Terms of Use explain what’s allowed.

For developers

The photo collection is also available through a read-only public API, with filters for place, category and date, and GeoJSON for maps.
