Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
We collect as little as we can: no advertising, no tracking cookies and no analytics services.
1. Who we are
Jamaica in Photos is run by Oren Thomas. For anything about your data, email contact@jamaicainphotos.com.
2. What we collect and why
- When you contact us: your name, email address, topic and message. The contact form sends them to our inbox as an email so we can reply. They are not stored in the site’s database or used for marketing.
- Photo views: we count how many times each photo is viewed per day. The count contains nothing about you. To count a view only once, your browser remembers which photos you’ve opened in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.
- Security and limits: like any website, our hosting provider handles your IP address to deliver pages, block abuse and apply rate limits. We don’t keep logs of visitors’ IP addresses.
- API keys: if you ask for an API key, we keep the name and email address you give us to manage the key, plus counts of requests made with it.
4. Services we use
Your data is handled on our behalf by these providers, only as needed to run the site:
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery and storage;
- Supabase: the database and admin sign-in;
- Google Workspace: email, including messages from the contact form.
Some of these providers may process data outside Jamaica.
5. How long we keep it
Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. API key details are kept while the key is active. View counts contain no personal data.
6. Your rights
Under Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, 2020 you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can object to how we use it. Email contact@jamaicainphotos.com and we’ll respond promptly.
7. Children
The site is not aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. See also our Terms of Use.
